Description
The stopmotion will display my travel from denmark to kuala lumpur and my stay here. The idea is that it will show different types of personal highlight, such as the jungle, the petronas towers etc. there will be taken pictures of the different tourist spots, and ind the end the pictures will be displayed as polaroids
concept - idea
a journey from denmark to kuala lumpur/malaysia
Break downs
- airport from denmark to kl
- flying in the airplane
- Map view from Denmark to Malaysia
- Arriving in KL
- 3 different tourist stops/highlights (personal)Petronas towers, hiking nearby the waterfalls, perhentian islands
- polaroids pictures
- “The end” polaroid picture.
Materials
Backgrounds (different pictures), old camera (hand), printed polaroids
Mr. Martin furthermore told me that it would make it way more interesting if i applied my personal experience of my stay here in Malaysia, so it wasn't just tourist highlights.
We then had to make a animatics, displaying our idea and our storyboard. So it would create an image of how the outline will be.
PRODUCTION
I shot all the different scenes in one day. the weekend after we had to do a presentation of the draft of our video and our experience with the production.

POSTPRODUCTOIN
As for for postproduction I edited the different shots in Premiere Pro. I used the Ripple Edit tool a lot, I scaled all of the different shots so they would fit the 16:9 frame. When i colorcorrected the video I applied a adjustment layer. I applied different audios, I recorded my own voice as the "we are now boarding to Kuala Lumpur" and then edited it Audition to make it sound like it was coming from a speaker, for that I used the equaliser and then also applied some pitch - a higher pitch. I also destroyed the sound.

all the different audio and videoclips. |
At last i nested all the different shots so that i could apply my title and the music credits. By nesting all of the different shots together, you make sure that you can't move around/edit the clips one by one, in that way it's a more secure way to do the finishing touches.
FINAL RESULT
REFLECTION
By this stopmotion I have used my creative side to produce a video, which I have edited in Premiere Pro. In Premiere Pro I used a lot of the tools I have learned to use through this semester for example colorcorrection. I used Auditon to produce the different effects i wanted to apply to my video, such as the Voice-over.
Even though my first idea is much similar to my final outcome I did apply a lot of changes throughout my proces. My first idea was kind of plain, so I chose to work with a lot diversity throughout my video, such as the different camera/picture scenes, where its different how u see the printed picture.
I then had some feedback from Mr. Martin about applying something a bit less happy to my video, to make it more diverse and interesting. I decided therefore that the last scene is a picture of my parents taken in Melaka, to display my "home-sickness".
